The Mick Oxley Gallery is a bespoke development, a purpose designed area created from an old joiners shop, to provide a light and airy studio space for work and display.
As well as Mick’s evocative seascapes, atmospheric textural shoreline studies, prints and cards, there is also an eclectic selection of objets d’art. Currently we have jewellery by ever popular Green Tea Treasures and destinctive designs by Fiona Dane. The gallery also hosts stunning driftwood creations by Trucmuche and blacksmith’s art by award winning Stephen Lunn.
In the photography section we have work by the increasingly popular Nigel Lowder and by David Whitton. For the 2012 season the gallery has sourced new pottery from Tregear Pottery and Dee Dickson and also from old favourites Pat Dalton and Kellbrook. Ruth Lyne contributes stunning glass creations and Edinburgh based Heather Potten produces felted scarves and wall hangings influenced by the sea. We also stock fragranced soya wax candles handmade by Pure Candles and new to the gallery we have beautiful wood creations from Isle of Man artist Graham Hall. Rachel Clinton has had a successful introduction with her lights made using Lindisfarne oyster shells.
We plan to continue introducing new artists to the gallery in the coming months. Keep an eye on the website for changes. Hope to see you soon! Mick
